'Joey' to fetch $1m an episode in UK
|
Friends spin-off Joey is set to be bought for around $1million (£550,000) an episode in the UK, after producers Warner Bros put the show 'up for auction', prompting a bidding war between Channel 4, BSkyB and Channel 5.
British buyers saw the pilot in Los Angeles last month and gave it reasonable reviews, but were said to brand it "no Friends".
The new series of Joey sees Matt Le Blanc reprise his role as Joey Tribbiani, following him as he pursues his acting career after moving to Los Angeles.

Joey Pilot Leaks To The Net

 The very first episode of Joey taped, the one with Ashley Scott still as Joey's neighbor, has appeared on the net. If you'd like to see this lost episode, I'm sure someone in the FORUM knows where it's at. ;) We don't know yet who will replace Ashley or if the scenes they reshoot will be the same, but for now you'll definitely want to check this out.

Ashley Scott Bumped From Joey

 NBC's Friends spin-off Joey is set to undergo some fine-tuning before it debuts in the fall, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The producers of the Warner Bros. comedy decided Tuesday to redevelop the character of Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) sexy new neighbor in Los Angeles. Ashley
Scott (Walking Tall, TV's Birds of Prey), who played the character in the pilot, will be gone.

NBC To Show Entire Pilot

May 14th 2004 - NBC: The network is feeling a lot of love for Joey. The entire pilot episode of the Friends spinoff starring Matt
LeBlanc will be
shown Monday to ad executives gathered in Radio City Music Hall to get a look at the network's fall schedule. Usually, new shows
are cut down to clips of six minutes or so — a length where almost any you-know-what can shine. But the internal buzz for Joey is
strong enough to convince NBC president Jeff Zucker & Co. that it will play well in the typically tough room of media buyers who will
be deciding where to place nearly $9 billion in TV ad dollars based on what they see next week. "Even the harshest critics at NBC on
the East Coast say it's the best pilot they've seen here in 10 years," said one insider. ---from tvguide.com

Ashley Scott Added To Joey
|
April 15th 2004 - Ashley Scott has been cast as the love interest in JOEY. Scott (BIRDS OF PREY) is set to join the cast of NBC's JOEY. The FRIENDS
spinoff follows Joey Tribbiani as he moves from New York and lives with his sister Gina's son Michael (Paulo Costanzo), a 20-year old rocket
scientist. Scott will play Tribbiani's sexy neighbor and potential love interest. Scott Silveri, Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Kevin S. Bright
are executive producing.
