UK Channel 5 Wins Joey
|
 LeBlanc will reprise his Friends role as Joey Tribbiani in the new series
Five has won the right to broadcast Friends spin-off series Joey, after Channel 4 pulled out of bidding.
It will show the series "early next year" after it is broadcast in the US in September, a spokeswoman said.
The channel would not reveal how much it paid for the rights to the 13-episode sitcom, in which Matt LeBlanc reprises his Friends role.
On Thursday Channel 4 said it would not join in the bidding war for the series, claiming the price tag was too high.
According to unconfirmed reports, bidding had been expected to start at £100,000 an episode, while Warner Bros was said to be looking for about £550,000 per show.

Andrea Anders Joins Joey

 SHE'S NO RACHEL: Matt LeBlanc has made a new friend. Newcomer Andrea Anders has landed the pivotal role of Joey's next-door neighbor (and possible love interest) on Joey, NBC now confirms. Anders replaces Ashley Scott, who was let go last month for creative reasons. Anders, who had a small role in this summer's Stepford Wives remake, beat out several actresses for the coveted gig -- including one rather high-profile thesp. And no, it wasn't Keri
Russell -- who, let's face it, could get any role she damn well wanted.

No Old 'Friends' for 'Joey'

Given that Joey Tribbiani has just moved into a sunny, airy apartment complex in Los Angeles, it wouldn't be unexpected for Ross and Rachel or Chandler and Monica to come out to California and visit. He could show them the La Brea tar pits and they could get hot dogs at Pink's. If that reunion just happened to come at a key point during the November sweeps period, what could be more convenient?

Channel 4 wont bid for Joey

 Channel 4 have said that when the joey Spinoff Starts,they are not bidding for the show to be shown on channel 4.A spokesperson for channel 4 has said "It would be a waste of money and time as The show wont last and will not be a sucess" So people from sky one are bidding instead.If sky get the show it's bad news for people who dont have sky.Lets hope channel 4 come around

Matt LeBlanc Ready for New 'Joey' Show

Now that "Friends" has closed up shop actor Matt Leblanc says he is ready for his new project, "Joey."
LeBlanc said during an interview with AP Radio that at first it was strange to be on a new set surrounded by new people. He said that he kept waiting for the door to open and for Chandler to walk in.

Joey" co- star Drea de Matteo will make a special ap pearance Thursday in Times Square for a 40th anni versary Head & Shoulders event featuring ce lebrity stylist Jason Hayes. Hayes and his team will offer free hair washing and styling to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locks of Love will receive $5 for every head of hair washed and styled.
